Local files on Mac and Windows

My Question or Issue

I'm trying to get local files I initially imported on a Windows 10 desktop to work on my MacBook Pro. Unlike mobile devices the songs are not accessible at all and mirroring the songs on this device too, did not help either. I would have to create duplicates of my local files in order to get it to work and this would lead to duplicates on all my mobile devices. So how can I fix this issue without ending up with duplicates in my playlist?

Currently Spotify doesn’t support transferring local files between the desktop apps.
