Return/Enter forcefully completes editing the title of a playlist in Japanese input mode

Return/Enter forcefully completes editing the title of a playlist in Japanese input mode

Plan: Premium

Country: Japan

Device
MacBook

Operating System

macOS Monterey 12.6

My Question or Issue

In Japanese input, you need to transform the letters to other characters.
For example, from "とうきょう(toukyou)"  to "東京".

You can pick one from the candidates to transform before settling down the word.

So the actual keyboard input for the example above is like "toukyou[space][return/enter]".

The expected behavior when the app got the last return/enter is to continue waiting next input, not complete editing the title.

Are there any solution for this?

Hey @yagihashoo,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to add some insights. We can confirm this is the expected behavior for the section to name a playlist at the moment.

We'd recommend, as a workaround, to write the title somewhere else (maybe on a notepad or a Google Doc) and copy/paste it in the title field of the playlist you want to name.

We understand where you're coming from, and we really appreciate the time you took to write this feedback to us. If possible, it'll be really helpful if you could send us a video recording of this described behavior so we can pass the feedback on to the right team. Just keep in mind that this is currently expected.

You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public so we can watch it.

Keep us in the loop!
