Some tracks won't play

Some tracks won't play

I have Spotify Premium. From time to time, I'll get a random song that will not play from a playlist and/or artist/album page from the desktop app. It stops the listening session and does not advance, so I go from listening to music to silence.

The songs in question are highlighted in green as if they are playing. Somtimes there will be a message that says "Can't play current track" or similar, but most of the time there is no message. I've tried going to the artist and album pages and playing from there, and the result is the same. The track progress bar at the bottom does not change. However, it does work on the web player (though not when I've seen the "Can't play" message).

Anyone have any thoughts as to why this happens and/or have any suggestions on how to fix this? See the screenshot attached as well as a sample song that does it for me below.

Try a clean reinstall of Spotify to see if this fixes the problem:

Advanced method:
https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/reinstallation-of-spotify

Easy method:
Download this free app cleaner. It's super easy.

http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

When you open up the app, search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.

I use it all the time and it's a really great tool. If you ever decide to uninstall an app, the best way is to use this tool.

After that, download and reinstall Spotify.
