Spotify-Updates do not overwrite the last version on Mac

Spotify-Updates do not overwrite the last version on Mac

You write in your help section, that most problems with installation and upgrade happen because of right problems. All right. That has to be the reason why Spotify is installing every upgrade in ~/Applications instead of /Applications. So, I'm starting the old version the next time because it is in the normal Applications folder.

It cannot be that difficult to offer a version that can ask for a password in order to install itself. Maybe you do not even need that. Mozzilla updates do work without any password. Only the first installation needed authorization.

If you know, what Spotify is doing, it's not the point to move the App to the normal applications folder. But it's a bit odd that it's not working as most other software...

Btw: I wanted to add the Files you request in http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Mac-and/Troubleshooting-Windows-amp-Mac/td-p/5327... - there aro no such files in ~/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client

I am using Mac OS X 10.9.2
