Spotify app keeps pausing whenever it's in the background.

For some odd reason, Spotify (software) keeps pausing whenever I'm using other applications. But if i do a mouse-click anywhere on the screen, it starts playing again. This is very weird, and started happening after i Installed Yosemite OSX on my macbook. Is there any solution to this? I have of course tried to do a clean re-install, but that didn't seem to do anything.

Are you using a beta version of Yosemite? That might not look relevant, but it can affect some functions on apps. If you are, try installing the latest stable version 10.10.3 and see if it helps.

Then, seeing as you already tried reinstalling the Spotify app, try reinstalling whatever browser you're using.
