Why does remote spotify stop being discoverable?

I have Spotify running on a MacOS "server" that's connected to my stereo. I often run Spotify on my laptop, which is on the same LAN, and find something I want the server version to play. Usually I can click Connect To A Device, and the server will show up, and I select that and all is good. Sometimes, though, it doesn't show up. I have to remote-desktop in to the server, quit Spotify and relaunch it. Then it appears as an available device.

What is causing Spotify on the server to stop becoming discoverable by my laptop Spotify?

In order to get a better understanding of the situation, would you mind giving us some more info? Are you using a local server at home? 

It'd be great if you could also share any troubleshooting steps you've tried so far and even send us a screenshot so we can take a look at how things look like from your end. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor (only make sure not to send any private info).
