Albums auto added to playlist though Shuffle and Autoplay both switched off

Albums auto added to playlist though Shuffle and Autoplay both switched off

Spotify Premium

Spotify für Windows (64 Bit) 1.2.50.335.g5e2860a8

Windows 10 22H2

Hi,

after playing an album, Spotify keeps adding an additional albums of the same artist to the playlist and continues playing. How can I stop Spotify adding albums to the playlist?

Autoplay (settings) and Shuffle are both set to off (grey).

Thanks,

Nils

Hi there @Noki1,

Thanks for reaching out!

Are you launching the album from the artist's discography page while in List view? Note that List view queues the remaining albums as well and is useful when you want to go through the entire discography.

If you want to listen to a specific album, I'd recommend clicking on the album's title to open the album page instead.

You might have also had leftover tracks in the queue from a previous listening session. You'll find more info on how to remove them in this article.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers 🤘

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I do start the album from the artists discography, where the albums are shown as separate tiles.

What I checked is that after start playing one specific album, the playlist only shows the remaining tracks of this album. Nothing else. Though, after playing the last track, another albums tracks suddenly appear in the playlist.

So, the initial playlist is ok, the problem is what happens after playing the last track.

Nils

Thanks for the reply Nils!

Hmm, that behavior sounds similar to how Autoplay functions. Could you try togging it on/off again to see if that helps? If you use Spotify on other devices make sure to toggle it off there as well. If the issue persists, I'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app.

You can also try installing Spotify from a different source: if you downloaded the app from our website, try the version from the Microsoft Store instead and vice versa.

Let us know how it goes 👍

Hi,

I tried a re-installation, but to no avail, though not from the MS store, which I don't use. But I tested two other systems with Spotify für Windows (64 Bit) 1.2.51.345.gcc39d911 and they show the exact same behavior.

Autoplay is switched off on all other devices (Android and iOS) and there playback stops after an album, like expected.

So, are you able to reproduce my problem?

Nils

Hey @Noki1,

Just to be on the safe side as it wasn't completely clear for me from your last reply -
Have you gone over the exact steps for a complete clean reinstall as linked by @Yordan
We'd also like to confirm that you've tested three different desktop apps, all with Autoplay disabled and that all three play additional albums after the initial album finishes.

If this is the case, as we couldn't reproduce the issue on our end, we'd like to ask you for a video recording of what's happening on your end in order to take it backstage. In addition to that, please let us know the Windows versions of all tested devices and the rough date you've started noticing the issue. It'll be helpful to know if it has started occurring after an app or OS update.

Many thanks in advance! We'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
