My Question or Issue
Suddenly, I stopped hearing the music on my wireless headset (Corsair Void Pro). If I change to my speakers, It works. It's not the headset's problem because I can hear all the other sounds of the computer (YouTube, PC sounds/notifications). I tried uninstalling and then re-installing the app, but It still doesn't work. The volume is at maximum. What can I do? It's so annoying!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Another thing I'd suggest is muting and unmuting Spotify app through the speaker icon on Taskbar:
1. right-click on speaker icon
2. select Open Volume Mixer
3. mute and unmute Spotify
4. restart Spotify and try playing something.
Also, does Spotify pop up any blue bars whilst attempting playback? If yes, let me know what it says. 🙂
Let me know how it goes!
Hey @Capywave, welcome to the Community!
You can try marking your headset device as default in your audio settings. You can check this Winaero guide on how to. 🙂
Let me know if that does the trick!
Thanks for the welcome!
Well, I've just checked It and it seems that my headset is already set as default, so do you know any other solution?

I feel so dumb right now... I opened the volume mixer to try what you said and Spotify was at minimum so that's why I couldn't hear the music... **bleep** thank you so much and sorry xD
If got kinda the same problem and fixed it with : sound properties /headset properties/improvements/ enable "turn off all sound effects"
I am playing music through USB speakers connected to my windows 10 desktop and using the Spotify app with Premium account. This works fine. When I connect my headphones (Plantronics) also with USB connection, my other software on my computer automatically recognizes the headphones and switches or I can manually switch in the application audio settings. Spotify however continues to play through the speakers, and I can't find where to change the audio settings.
I don't find a solution to my problem here. I see a lot of posts on wireless headphones, bluetooth connection, listening to Spotify on an iPhone, but this all doesn't apply to my situation. I want to listen using my desktop PC, and a wired USB headphone. When I connect the headphone it is automatically recognized and set as default in my Windows 10 settings, but Spotify continues to play through the also connected speakers. I see references to the audio setting of Spotify, but I looked everywhere and couldn't find how to acces these audio settings. Can someone indicate how to access the audio settings of Spotify voor Windows (64-bits) (1.2.52.442.g01893f92).
Where can I find this "volume mixer"?
Right-click on speaker icon doesn't do anything on my PC. I am not sure what I should do.
Hi @schuel00,
Thanks for the replies.
It's quite strange when you say you don't get any options when right clicking the volume. You can try searching for the Volume Mixer in the Start menu instead and then please follow the steps provided by @Sebasty.
Let us know how it goes.
Sorry, but I am not sure I can follow. The "Speaker Icon" or the "Volume" you suggested I could click on is the icon in the right lower corner isn't it (see red arrow in screen shot attached). As mentioned there is nothing that happens when right clicking there, neither on the speaker icon itself, nor on the volume slider. What am I doing wrong?
I have been looking for the Volume Mixer in the Start menu, but can't find it either. The start menu is the menu that opens when clicking in the app on the 3 dots in the upper left corner, right? I add a picture of all menu options I have I find in the option "afspelen" (= "play") the options "Volume hoger" (= "Volume higher") and "Volume lager" (= "Volume lower"), but no Volume Mixer... (sorry my version is in Dutch). Not sure what I should do...
Hey @schuel00,
Thanks for getting back to us and sorry for the confusion.
The options @Sebasty mentioned are not in the Spotify app itself, but on the task bar of your PC (in the lower right corner next to the clock and date). Give those steps a try to see if they work for you.
If the issue persists, could you check if the same happens on a different PC? It's also worth trying if the same happens with a different pair of headphones on your PC.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
