Missing options to sort music on desktop

I am trying to sort a playlist by Artist/Title and the options are missing on both the desktop and web apps. It's a brand new laptop, I've just installed the app. I've then cleared the cache, uninstalled fully, reinstalled, rebooted, and googled in case the method has changed. Nothing helpful.

When I mouse over the #, Title/Artist, Album columns there used to be an ability to click the heading and sort, but that isn't showing.

I can sort fine on my Android mobile, just not on desktop or web.

Any assistance?

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to sort the order of playlists, I'm trying to sort the order of songs within a playlist.

Thanks Joan - I have figured out the issue. I was clicking on the 'Install app' option from the web version of Spotify, and it was showing up as an 'app' in the start menu, but that was in fact the web player. I went to the Microsoft store and downloaded the actual desktop app, and the sorting options are present and working. Thankyou for assisting with this issue.

Hi there @Frustrated18,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you organize your library the way you like it.

It should still be possible to click on "Title" or "Album" at the top of a playlist to sort it and likewise you should have the option to filter by artist from the drop down menu in the top right corner. Are these options missing on your end? What do you see exactly? Does this happen on your playlists only or on all of them?

When you can, please make a screen recording showing this full behaviour so that we can have a closer look. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your reply Joan.

I can't click on the Title or Album header, it isn't showing up as a clickable button. There is no filter option in a drop down menu at the top right, that option seems to be missing altogether. It happens on all playlists (my playlists, albums, other people's playlists) on the desktop and web apps. Seems to work fine on mobile, I can swipe down and sort as usual, but that isn't reflected in the desktop or web apps.

I've attached a screen recording. I recorded left and right clicking on the headers - you can see the arrow cursor changes to a typing cursor, so they aren't being recognised as buttons - and included enough in the screen cap that you can see what else is on my screen.

Hi @Frustrated18,

Thanks for the reply and the video.

We can see from the video that you've recorded it on the web player and the filtering options in question are not available on there. You did however mention that the same happens on the desktop app, so could you possibly make another video showcasing that there? Send us the Spotify Version you use too.

Keep us posted.
