My Question or Issue
Hi there, I was trying to change the advanced setting and faced an error at the bottom of the Setting page

it says "Failed to load URL https://d5ecgvacntsb3.cloudfront.net/test-ads/dynamic-house-ad/dynamic-house-ad.html?cc=EN-US&clickt... with error ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED (-105)."

Hey @YumoZ

Thanks for the report. Can you please send a screenshot of where you're seeing this behavior?

Thanks

Sorry, because it says "You do not have permission to upload images." I can
only reply to you by email.

The error log is fixed on the bottom of the window, wherever I am at the
top or bottom of the settings page. The error log is in black and gray
background, which may be a bit hard to find.

It hides the "advanced setting" button at the bottom. It is showing like
this when I first open Spotify. In fact, I just downloaded Spotify couple
of days ago

Hey @YumoZ

Are you referring to the settings in the desktop app (accessed by clicking on your profile icon at the top right corner)? A bit more info on what's happening on your end would be greatly appreciated.

You can also try uploading the screenshots to a cloud like Google Drive and sharing the URL here - just make sure the files are accessible by anyone with the link.

If you haven't already, try performing a clean reinstall of the app. Installing Spotify from a different source might also help - if you downloaded Spotify from the Microsoft Store, try the version from our website instead, and vice versa.

Cheers,

Yes, I mean the settings in the desktop app.

here is a screen record I made for the problem

Thanks for the video, @YumoZ!

Just like @Yordan mentioned in the post here, does it make any difference after a clean reinstall or if you change the Spotify version you're currently using (between the one from the Microsoft Store and our website)?

Keep us posted.

I tried it. It shows the same page

The error says
"Failed to load URL
https://d5ecgvacntsb3.cloudfront.net/test-ads/dynamic-house-ad/dynamic-house-ad.html?cc=EN-US&clickt...
with error ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED (-105)."

Hey again @YumoZ.

If this is happening on both versions of the app (from the website and the MS-store) then this may be an account-related issue. To test this, would it be possible to log into a relative's or a friend's Spotify-account?

Hope to hear from you soon.

I tried to apply for a new account and tested it. It still did not work

Hey @YumoZ,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

In this case, would you mind opening your account on a different computer to see if you can replicate this behavior? If possible, you can ask for the computer of a relative or a friend and open your account there to check.

On another note, did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.

Lastly, would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you're running on your device? You can find the Spotify version by following the steps in this article

There is no specific event that happened. It's my first time downloading
Spotify on PC, and right after I downloaded it, the error showed up.

The version code is:
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.30.1135.g02fef27a

Hey @YumoZ,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Just to confirm, are you able to use the app in general terms? Is it working as it should or do you notice any issues regarding the performance of the app (aside from this error)? Please send us the details.

On another note, does this error change when you get an ad? If not sure, it'd be awesome if you could check. Does this happen (do you see the error) when using the web player? If not sure, it'd be awesome if you could check.

Lastly, do you use a VPN? Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior. If yes, try switching it off. If you use any ad blocker apps on your device, we'd suggest switching those off as well.

We'll be on the lookout!

1. no error showed up during my general use. However, I used it once and
searched for a specific thing.

2. Cuz I didn't use it a lot, I didn't see any ads during my use. And I am
also curious how I can find it for checking.
Btw, I think maybe my error because the ad cannot load out

3. I didn't use a VPN, I am in Canada right now and I am using the local
network. And I don't have any ad blocker as well.

Appreciate the cooperation, @YumoZ!

We did some testing and as we were not able to reproduce this issue from our end, and also because overall Spotify is behaving as it should for you, it's best to keep the app updated. Hopefully there'll soon be a fix on this issue you're seeing.

In the meantime, the Community's here for you should you need help with anything else. Have a good one!

Hello, I have the same issue. Are you by any chance able to watch video podcasts? I can watch them on the web browser, but not on my client (my thread here), MS Store or Standalone install.

The same with me.
