We've identified an issue here with the help of @yell0wdrops in terms of moving folders. This will be fixed in the next desktop release in a couple of weeks. Hope to get a fix into the Web Player today/tomorrow. Thanks for reporting.

My Question or Issue
I can't move folders. I used to be able to. I could do it yesterday. Now - nothing, can't drag and drop a folder to move it. I'm set to custom order, I've closed the app and started again, I've shut down the laptop and started again. No help at all.
Hey there @user-removed,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
Just to confirm, have you followed these specific steps to do so?
If yes, would you mind sending us a short screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We'll be waiting for your reply.
wrong place
I accidentally put one of my playlist folders into another playlist folder, and I can't remove it. I might be dumb though.
Hi, i am searching this forum for about an hour now for a solution to a similar problem. From the last update:
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.19.941.gbf202593
i cannot move (rearrange) folders anymore. the view is set to custom. i cannot move new folders or old folders anymore. i can only move pinned folders. in my case, i can't even move a folder inside the folder.
i will try to reinstall a clean version but that seems to be an issue.
edit: reinstalling and installing a clean version did not work. it is the same version:
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.19.941.gbf202593
i thought maybe language might have to do something with it so i changed it to "english" (since mine was automatically croatian) but that didn't help. i am able to move the folders from the web player. but not in this version of the app.
edit2: i can reproduce it on another player on another pc with another users account.
is there an older version i can test?
edit3: found it. here:
Spotify for Windows (32 bit)
1.2.17.834.g26ee1129
the previous version has no problem with moving folders. it's specific to:
Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.19.941.gbf202593
problem solved. now fix it 🙂
Just bumping this because I can't move folders out of folders which is extraordinarily frustrating cause I just dragged a whole load into a folder by mistake. m2 macbook pro here...

My Question or Issue
I can rearrange my playlists just fine but I can no longer drag and drop my folders to rearrange them. I do have custom order turned on.
i have chosen playlists and custom orders but all of a sudden i can't drag and sort my folders but i can drag and sort my playlists. I can't even out folders that are inside other folders
For what it's worth, I just encountered the version of this issue where I absolutely could not move a folder out of another folder in the desktop app on Mac OSX. However, I was able to move it in the web app as OscarDC suggested, and the desktop app synced immediately.
Hi folks, this is a known issue since the last Desktop release - it will be resolved in the next Desktop release in ~7 days. For now you can use the Web Player to deal with folders and it will sync to Desktop. Sorry about this.
Spotify for macOS (Intel)
1.2.19.941.gbf202593
I can't as of yesterday move the folders I made into a "custom order". Not sure what happened here.
Can you please help?

Same issues here! Sometimes rearanging the order works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes even moving a playlist to a different folder doesn't work. Everything works in the web player though.

My Question or Issue
I have a Folder containing 11 playlists. Somehow this folder got moved into another folder. I cannot find it unless I search for it. It comes up in a search, but once found in a search, I am unable to move that playlist into a parent folder. There's no way that I can see to move it at all. How can I get this folder back to a parent folder?
This issue has appeared again!
This action does nothing, moving folders to the base directory is impossible, you can only create folders there. Very difficult.
I cannot re-order playlists at all.
Same issue, just responding to keep this thread alive until it is fixed....
Thx. For me just emptying cache and rebooting app did the trick. Appreciated.
You can try Muzconvtool app
