I can't see my friends listening activity

I can't see my friends listening activity

I have followed the instructions on spotify desktop app for it supposedly start working and have even connected my Facebook account in the hopes of it working, which wasn't successful.
I have also checked if my friends have that feature turned on and not on a private session

Just a little update, I have made a new account on spotify on my desktop to test out if the friends activity would work, which it did. It seems that the problem is coming from my spotify account and not from my laptop.

Any ideas on how I can fix this??

i have included a picture of how it looks on my spotify account

Hey @happymeebee,

Thanks for posting on the Community and for the screenshot shared.

We'd like to add some initial insights. At Spotify, we're always working to enhance our users' experience. We updated the Friend Activity default to private so that users have greater control over how their listening activity is shared with others on Spotify. Users that want to make their listening activity public, can turn sharing on in the Settings menu.

That being said, there's some other details it's important you take into account. Please check you meet all he following:

  1. Make sure you're following users in the app, not just artists.
  2. The users you follow must have enabled permissions to share their listening activity under settings from their own accounts.
  3. The users you follow must have listened to a track for at least 30 secs within the last week.
  4. You have enabled permissions to share your listening activity under settings.

Take into account Friend Activity might not update in real time. You can read more about it in this article and, If the inconvenience persists, for starters, you can follow the basic troubleshooting there.

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

Until then!

My Question or Issue

For some reason, It shows '' You 0 Friends on Spotify '' through Facebook,

I have tried to :

1. uninstall the application from the desktop completely.

2. log out and log in with Facebook + cancel the connection itself from Facebook

3. Play with settings - See what your friends are playing, Private session on and off, all of the social settings as well.

I Have tons of Facebook friends who use Spotify, but yet I do not see a single one in Spotify.

Mine and all my friend’s share listening is turned on. But I can’t see theirs and they can see mine.

It doesnt work here either.

Useless support.
