My Question or Issue
As the subject infers, I can't join Jams via desktop. When I click a link to join a jam, it opens to the web version of Spotify where it says "You can join this Jam from the Spotify app" with no prompt to open or go to the desktop app. When I first found this issue, I was using the desktop app from the Microsoft store. I reinstalled from the Spotify website, to no avail. The only workaround I've found is to join the Jam from my phone and switch my active speaker to my desktop, but this obviously is not the intended way and very inconvenient. I'm looking for either 1. a fix or 2. be told this bug is out of my control and I can't fix it myself. This issue is affecting my friends as well and it'd be cool if I can report back to them with a fix. Thanks.
Hi @kyrin247,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Sorry to hear about your experience with the Jam feature. Do you remember when this started happening, maybe after a recent update? Are your friends also unable to access Jam from the Desktop app, could you direct them to this thread so we can have their input as well.
We would suggest a clean uninstall of the app, that will help you start with Spotify completely fresh. You can find steps on how to perform a clean uninstall here.
Hope this will help out, keep us posted.
Hey, sorry about the late reply, but I've tried that and I still can't join Jams via desktop. Any further suggestion would be appreciated. My friends say they have the same exact issue that I do, that the link simply doesn't open to the desktop app and instead redirects them to the website.
Hi there @kyrin247,
Thanks for the reply. We'll need to gather some more details to investigate further. Could you please provide us the following:
With this information, we’d be happy to investigate. Please direct any other users you know that have this issue to this thread and ask them to provide the above info as well. The more samples we have, the more this will aid our reasearch.

At this point, the issue is no longer present. For unrelated reasons I reinstalled Windows the other day and it seems to work now. As for my friends, one of them reinstalled Spotify from the website (they had Microsoft version) and it works for him now, too. I'll have everyone else do this as well. I'll report back with results.
Hi there @kyrin247,

My Question or Issue
I recently switched over to firefox, and now whenever I click a jam link my friend sends me on discord, it directs to the website and says download the app to join. I never had this problem on chrome, it would always open the app.
I feel like I have tried everything:
Reinstalled Spotify
Checked extensions in settings
Disabled ad blockers
allowed spotify to open links
This is very frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated.
