Latest version of Spotify (1.2. 48.405.gf2c48e6f) can't play any song. Gives me error when clicking play saying "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it"
Reinstalling the app, clearing cache, changing audio settings doesn't work. Version 1.2.47.364.gf06e5cee works just fine.
Could you guys please look into it?
Hey there @Ravenheart1012!
I’d suggest doing a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a regular one and can help clear out any cache that might be causing issues. You can do that by following these steps to get it done.
If that doesn't work, try logging in with another Spotify account to see if the problem still happens.
Let me know how it goes!

Hey Mateus,
The issue still exsists, I did several reinstalls. When I want to use Spotify, the routine goes like this: Uninstall Spotify, then reinstall version 1.2.49.439. This is works until I close and open the program again, the automatic update then makes it unsusable. I did check in the AppData directory, there was no Spotify folder after the classic uninstallation. Restarting after uninstallation also didn't solved it. Installing a newer version from the aforementioned just straight doesn't work.
Hi there, @Ravenheart1012,
I'd strongly recommend making sure you're running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any feature or security updates.
As for the error message, could you give the steps from this article a try to see if that does the trick for you? Check if the appropriate audio output device has been selected for Spotify and that the sample rate has been set to anywhere between 44.1 kHz and 192 kHz.
Something else you can do is disable the communication settings, as well as Exclusive Mode and audio enhancements in Windows:
Lastly, try reinstalling your audio drivers as well, if you haven't already.
Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 👍
Hi, I managed to fix this by turning on Windows Sonic for Headphones in Spatial Sound options. This isn't a permanent fix by my standards since it makes videogames sound awful, but it'll work for now while you listen to music.
The solution: Changing sampling rate to 24bit, 44.1kHz. Nothing above 44.1kHz seems to work.
