My Question or Issue
When playing a song the pause button stops the playing, but within a second it automatically resumes.
Even when I play on PC but control via Android phone pause responses the same.
When audio is on the phone it works fine.
Hi there @PielsK76,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll gladly look into this for you.
To start off, perform a clean reinstall if you haven't already. This is known to fix a multitude of issues and hopefully this is another of them too.
If the issue does persist, check if any other Connect devices appear in the list when this happens. If they do, try and disconnect them. Also try disconnecting any other devices connected to the PC that may control playback such as headphones, keyboards with media keys, etc.
Let us know how it goes.
Hey @PielsK76, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵
Could you try the same on the web player and see if that makes a difference? You can find the web player on open.spotify.com. This will help us isolate the issue if it is happening only on one app.
At the same time, try to test this on another media player app. This helps in understanding if the issue is only with Spotify or other media players as well.
Keep me posted. 🙂
Hi both!
A reinstall didn't do the trick.
The webplayer has the same issue on this PC and other mediaplayers don't have it.
Thanks for the effort in helping!
Got more info!
I found another media player with the same problem and I 've now found out that it only occurs with my Bluetooth headset!
So the problem is not Spotify.
I am experiencing exactly the same issue with the official web player or the SDK on my browser in both desktop and mobile mode. When I try to pause the current song, it resumes playing by itself after a few seconds. It is therefore impossible to pause the player permanently. I am not using the desktop application at all.
In response to the previous analysis, I am experiencing the issue on my phone, which is not connected to Bluetooth at all, and on my desktop PC, which isn't either. This is indeed a Spotify issue because the problem is recent, and everything was working fine until now.
In my case, i found the solution!
Since it was indeed a problem coming from my (bluetooth) headset, I had to disable the "Remote Control" service in the device manager which did the trick!
It's offcourse a workaround since my remote control buttons on my headset don't work now anymore, but I didn't use them anyway so for me it's fine.
