Playing Spotify from a desktop and Google home mini?

Playing Spotify from a desktop and Google home mini?

Plan

Operating System

My Question or Issue

I usually listen to Spotify on my desktop, however I would like to possibly add a Google home mini to create a multi-room setup that I can use voice commands with. I currently use my android phone as a remote, but voice commands only work when my phone is unlocked (and when they do work Spotify switches to playing from my phone instead of my desktop speakers)

Would this kind of system work (i.e. Spotify playing from my desktop, with a Google home mini acting as an additional speaker/voice controlled remote)?

Hi there @SuA204,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome aboard to the Community! It's only possible to play on one device at a time using a singular account. Is that what you were trying to do? If not, it should be possible to control the playback on your speaker from your desktop or phone by using Connect.

Hope this helps. If this doesn't cover what you were looking for, please elaborate and we would be happy to help you further.
