Press play and nothing happens. Only works after pressing heart button.

When I search for an album and press play, nothing happens. After I press the heart button to "Save to your Library" it will start playing normally.

This was an Ongoing Issue that affected many Spotify users. It has since been fixed.

Please update your Spotify client by following this guide. The newest version is 1.2.9.743.g85d9593d.

 

Depending on where you downloaded Spotify, you may need to update your app from the Windows Store.

Thanks for the assist! My client stopped auto-updating so I thought I was on the newest version. I just manually downloaded and updated to 1.2.9.743.g85d9593d. It is back to working as expected. Hooray!
