My Question or Issue

Song counter does not match in one of my playlists.

All unavailable songs are shown.

In a playlist view it says clearly 7738 tracks, but in add to playlist -view (plus button) it says one more aka 7739 songs. It also affects the Android app same way.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have reinstalled apps. Still the same.

Hey @vaajy,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community about this.

To continue investigating this, could you confirm if this happens with all the playlists you have tried or just a specific one? If it's just one, would you mind including the link/URI on your next response to take a better look?

Also, we understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling, but taking into account that this process fixed a similar issue reported some time ago, did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?

Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running on your devices.

We'll be waiting for your response.

Hi, thanks for your input.

I did another time clean reinstall of Windows for first. I followed the method in the link.

1. I do not add any local tracks, so it must be one from your past catalogue.

I also remember to have in Liked/list track empty Various Artists row like this.

I somehow managed to remove it from liked and counter corrected, but perhaps something like this is related to issue?

Unfortunately it does not fix it on my devices. There is still one track more according to Add to playlist view.

Spotify - Windows (64-bit)
1.2.57.463.g4f748c64

Spotify - Android

9.0.20.604

I do not know how to find URI in the app.

The count issue affects only one list, all the other are corrects.

Thank you.

Hey @vaajy,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

We tried to replicate this behavior on our end with no success. So in this case, we'd recommend creating a copy of the playlist to see if it has a consistent number between your devices. To do so, just create a new playlist by using the + sign, open the affected playlists on your desktop app, use CMD + to select all songs and drag them to the new playlist. This way you'll have an exact copy of the affected playlist.

We'd also recommend avoiding having a large number of songs in a single playlist as it could affect its proper behavior.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Hi, thanks.

Perhaps yo can't reproduce it, because you can't add to the list?

The copy of the list makes numbers correct. Maybe there is something in that original list. There is exact number, but in original it's always one more. I like to collect radio edits in one list. I actually would prefer more room than 10K in one list. I might consider retiring this list when it hits 10 000 track limit or even earlier. Thank you.

Perhaps your developers should consider removing track amounts from Add to playlist view. As problem is only here.

Good day at once.

I was today eating at big canteen, had some relaxed time to look at devices and the problem seems fixed. I did not do anything about it after reporting. Just fresh reinstall as one of you suggested, which did not work. Today everything is correct in this and on any other lists. On mobile and desktop, maybe updates did correct the issues as one got them at the same time before arriving to canteen.

Thank you.

Hey @vaajy,

Glad to hear things are working now! Do keep in mind @OscarDC's suggestions above.

Thanks, I did notice his comment about having too big list.

I just like to collect radio edits at one list. It has 4 followers, so some people like it too. You just press a button and have music for the weeks to come. I still hope it will be one day maximum 100 000 songs each. As for now, I will remove oldest tracks to another list, to make room for newest adds, when it will hit limits. Once again thank you, the counter issue is fixed.
