My Question or Issue

Recently my spotify closes on it's on after some time, doesn't matter if it's playing a song or just opened, it just closes it self.

 

I'm on the latest version and I already reinstalled 3 times from the spotify site and the Microsoft Store.

-It's not a ram problem since I have 32gb of ram and there is no spikes on the usage of ram or cpu.

-Am on Windows 10 and there is no updates.

-I restarted my computer a couple of times and the problem continues.

-There is no antivirus or Windows defender pop ups.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. 

 

This type of issue, when the app is closing by itself, is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling a couple of times, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?

 

If so and the issue persists, we'd recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions in this post (even if it's a different issue).

 

Lastly, include in your next response the exact Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

Hello!

 

I did what you said and the problem continued, it's strange sometimes it takes 30 min for it to close and sometimes it's less than a minute. It worked fine for about a month. Also I have Spotify on my phone and it works fine, so it's not the account.

 

The version is: Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.24.756.g7a7fc7f0

Thanks for your reply. 

 

In this case, we suggest that you head to Settings > toggle on Show Local Files > toggle off all the sources that appear there > toggle off Show Local Files. Then restart the app to see if this makes the difference. 

 

Also, could you check that you have the hardware acceleration off as well? Does turning it on and restarting the app does the trick?
