Spotify desktop app closes everytime I open a game?

It didnt use to do this, but I had to reinstall spotify and now its doing this.

• When did this start happening?
• Does this happen with any game or only specific ones? Does it happen with other programs?
• Does the playback just stop or does the app crash completely?

It started happening roughly two months ago when I reinstalled windows and spotify pre-loaded on it.
Its just with games and launchers as far as I can tell. Any games, and It doesn't crash when I open discord or firefox for instance.
The app completely crashes and when I reopen the app it has restarted whatever song I was listening to.
After it crashes I checked task manager and there was still a spotify backround app but nothing showed up the system tray.

Thanks for the reply. Could you try fully removing that version of Spotify using the steps shown here and then reinstalling from the website?
