Neither worked.

I deleted \AppData\Roaming\Spotify and then reinstalled. That fixed it.

Hey @Shelby114! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

That's odd.

Have you tried reinstalling your app? If not here's a step by step tutorial.
Let us know if that helps, thanks! ^^

Peace

I can't reinstall the app, because when I click on the remove button the uninstaller doesn't start.

Having this same issue this morning. Launching Spotify, it never opens and runs with 100% CPU in task manager. If you end task that, then try to uninstall via Programs and Features, that launches Spotify.exe again, and it also runs with 100% CPU and never proceeds. Reboot doesn't help. This is on Windows 10.

@Shelby114

Please try to follow these steps: ^^

  1. Close Spotify.
  2. Open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
  3. Go to the Processes tab.
  4. Search for Spotify and end all processes related to it. (You can now close the Task Manager)
  5. Open Control Panel.
  6. Click Programs then Programs and Features.
  7. Select Spotify in the list and click Uninstall.
  8. Go to http://www.spotify.com/download and reinstall Spotify.

Peace

I did this, but when I select spotify and I click uninstall, nothing happens. The uninstaller doesn't open.

Please let me know the following details:

1. Exact Device  (e.g. MacBook Air)

2. Exact operating system  (e.g. Windows 10)

3. Spotify app version installed (1.0.2)

4. Are you receiving any Error messages at all?

Thanks! ^^

Peace

Nico,

Just a standard PC, not a device.

Windows 10, 64-bit.

Programs and Features says Spotify is 1.0.47.13.gd8ec05b1f (Can't launch to confirm in app)

No errors. Launching either the app or uninstaller never opens anything, just the task in Task Manager using 100% CPU.

1.I'm using simple PC

2.Windows 7 Ultimate

3.Version: 1.0.47.13

4.I'm not receiving error messages

I've escalated your issue to the support.
I will reply on this thread with help soon. ^^

Please try this:

Restart PC > Safe mode with networking > Install the app from there.

If that doesn't work, try to right click over installer > Run as administrator.

Let us know if that helps, thanks! ^^

Peace
