My Question or Issue

Hello.

Yesterday the Spotify Desktop App worked fine. Since I started the computer this morning the app keeps crashing.

First it crashed directly at startup

Restarting did not help

Reinstalling changed the behaviour slighty - it starts but crashes directly when trying to start a song. This behaviour is persistent now and is the same whether installed trough Microsoft Store or downloaded Executable

Downloading Songs and trying to play in Offline Mode does not help

Deleting Cache does not help

OS BootUp in Safe Mode does not help

Using Website and iPhone works fine

Restarting router does not help

Uninstalling, deleting every folder and file spotify related and installing again does not help

Drivers are up to date - and the last installation was roughly a week ago (reminder - yesterday it worked just fine)

No Error-Window and no Entry in Event log

No Entry in Spotify error log

Connecting to the internet via HotSpot does not work

I'm out of ideas here.

Hey @tiggerhuepf,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate all the info you included in your post and all the troubleshooting you've tried so far. This type of issue could also be related to some specific cache that was not cleared by reinstalling the app. Taking this into account, we'd recommend clearing any entries which contain Spotify from the host files on your computer. To do so, you can follow the instructions in this post (even if it's a different issue).

If the issue persists, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your PC - such as a friend or a family member, to see if it makes any difference.

Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.
