Volume on desktop app has suddenly become softer. How can I fix?

The volume has been quieter and flatter on the desktop app for a couple of days as of 10/14/2024. I've tested the web app with the same volume level as usual and the sound is not soft like it is on the desktop app.

I've already tried a ton of fixes. I can temporarily fix it by going to control panel -> sound -> Realtek Speakers -> Properties -> disable audio enhancements. This seems to fix it until I fiddle with the volume or restart the app. Although it does seem like it just boosts the volume.

In the spotify settings I've tried to tinker with: auto adjust volume, normalize volume, enable/disable hardware acceleration. Still no luck.

I've also tried a reinstall and a windows reinstall.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to Spotify community

A complete re-install eliminates likely any cache issues and also could you ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify

If the issue persists, try installing the app from a different source to see if that does the trick: if you downloaded Spotify from our website, try it from the Microsoft Store instead and vice versa.
