What is the current windows 7 client? I have 1.0.45 but I read there are more current

Greetings,

I am trying to solve an issue where my menus on my windows 7 client are empty (hence I can't get to preferences - see my other post).  I see there are more recent versions out there but I can't locate a good link (and I want to be careful).

Any help would be appreciated as I want to resolve this issue.  Thanks,

Hello!

First of all, please try a clean reinstallation. This can resolve many common issues.

If nothing happens, please create a new shortcut and add to the Target box "--disable-accelerated-layers --disable-accelerated-fixed-root-background" (without quote marks, after the %APPDATA%\Spotify\spotify.exe or whatever location it is installed).

If I am not clear in the second option, please let me know so I can reformulate it 😄

Have a nice day!

Greetings, and thanks for helping!!  I made a copy of the shortcut and tried the solution but the outcome is the same - the menu under edit is still broken.  Here is the target in the shortcut as well as a snip of the menu:

C:\Users\macbookair\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Spotify.exe --disable-accelerated-layers --disable-accelerated-fixed-root-background

Hello! Could you please stop by this section and tell me if it works?

Have a nice day!

Hello,

Thanks again - no change in my results, and I will share what I have done per your recommentation:

  • clean uninstall (even went into the registry via regedit and found all spotify entries and deleted them)
  • Device:
    • MacBookAir running bootcamp
    • Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1
    • Spotify 1.0.45.186.g3b5036d6
    • No error messages or issues playing - just missing menu options
  • In task manager I killed all processes that had spotify in the name
    • This was the webhelper processes

  • Started using your new shortcut you provided
    • Same result
  • Rebooted
    • Same result - menu issue

I have an identical machine here (macbookair, bootcamp, win7 ultimate, etc, and it works perfectly).  I have a feeling something from a previous install might be causing a problem as the install on the second macbookair running windows only has 1.0.45 on it.

Also, if I install an OLD version of spotify, the menus work, but the application has stability issues so I perform the upgrades as it offers in the help about menu and that is when the menus stop working.

Also, if I perform a clean install right to this version (1.0.45) it doesn't have the menu options.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Dave
