My Question or Issue

When pressing play or pause in the app it often does nothing and doesn't respond. I close the app and music is still playing and I have to go into task manager in order to stop Spotify from running. Overall just feels like nothing is working consistently and it's been like this for a couple of weeks now. I resorted to using Spotify through my browser however that's a pain because it's not as polished and some features aren't supported since they want you to use the app. I have performed multiple clean installs and the problem still persists. I've used Spotify on my desktop for years now and I've never had this happen and pretty soon will be moving to Apple Music because of this.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

 

Could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update? We'd also like to recommend checking if the OS of your PC has any pending updates. 

 

On another note, could you give a different internet connection a go to see if the issue persists? If you've been using WiFi, you can try creating a hotspot on your phone and using mobile data to test that. 

 

It's also recommended checking the hosts file and deleting any Spotify entries as shown here.

I've deleted all the Spotify entries and I am still having issues. I don't know what else to do at this point.
