"Spotify can't play this right now" + FIX

"Spotify can't play this right now" + FIX

Running the Windows Desktop Version of Spotify (Spotify for Windows
1.2.14.1149.ga3ae422d) and trying to play something resulted in the pop-up message "Spotify can't play this right now". I followed all the "n Steps to fix this issue" I could find but nothing worked.
Doing some troubleshooting myself I found the underlying problem and with it a workaround:

Spotify (version stated above) does not support any sampling rate above 192kHz (bit depth is not relevant, tested with 16, 24, 32)
Thus, lowering the sampling rate in the Windows sound settings to 192kHz or below resolves the error.

Interesting idea. Thanks for sharing.

Only, I see that my Windows is pegged at 24bit 44.1kHz ( way below 192kHz ) and I see no way to actually change the sampling rate. So, not sure what the issue is with my Spotify app. At this point, I will wait until a new Windows update is installed and / or a Spotify update before trying again. I've already put a ridiculous amount of time in trying to resolve the issue ( time I need to spend on other stuff ). For now, I will use the webplayer ( not ideal ).
