[Amazon Echo] Play multiple Speakers at the same Time

I recently got six(6) of the 2nd gen Amazon Echo Dots and placed them everywhere in my home. And I realized the policy of Spotify that is limiting to only one device to play music at the same time bothers me a lot when I set Spotify as a default music libary. For example, if one of my family members asks one of Echo Dots in his/her room to play music A, then music B on another Echo Dot I'm listening to stops playing.

I know there is Spotify Family Plan but my kids can't join that because they are just young and they don't have any email account yet. And also I don't want to create an account for them yet.

I believe Spotify could make possible to play the same music over multiple Echo Dots under the same network at the same time somehow even while it's not possible to play music on other multiple devices. Maybe by verifying some factors like if it's for Amazon Echo Dots under the same network under the same account.

I had the same idea.  With Netflix, we have the one account and a number of 'profiles'.  Our subscription allows multiple, concurrent, simultaneous but different streams up to a maximum of (I think) 6.  Given the explosion of Smart Home devices, it would make Spotify a much more isable app if it were to work on multiple Alexas, just as Netflix does on multiple Apple TVs.

I wish spotify would do this. But I fear it won't.  I am strongly considering moving to amazon although I've been faithful to spotify for so many years...

I got the family account so that when my wife listens on the echo at home I can still listen on my phone or on my computer. However, even though I'm able to have 5 different users, I would have to set up each speaker to a different account. Then I wouldn't be able to control it from my phone without changing the account on my phone, which completely defeats the purpose. I have been a long time paid subscriber to Spotify, but if this doesn't get resolved soon I am going to have to cancel my account and use Amazon music.

I ended up going with sonos.I will never go back. It really is that good. The **bleep** makes these on vinyl, the list two episodes of season 6 of GoT cannot be reproduced without it.

Interesting idea. It's playing with one device. Just utilizing multiple speakers.

This still isn't solved.  My advice would be for Spotify to stop saying 'Family'.  Becuase nothing about the way this works is for a Family.

I agree....as my kids get older I’m going to have to find another option.

This is not acceptable and pretty missleading to be honest. I prefer Spotifys' layout but will be leaving spotify due to this issue.

On a seperate note, your customer service is terrible at explaining this. I tried explaning the problem but they kept beating around the bush and not coming out and saying it cant be done. Its like they are being trained not to aknowledge the issue. Not being able to call customer service and being forced to go through a chat would be yet another complaint.
