Within the last month I've seen two other iterations of this idea (right now if you go down one on Popular ideas you'll see one of them), both of which broke 140 and one of which I'm pretty sure got removed for some reason. Plus, they possibly violate the guidelines for spotify ideas as they are a request for a complete rollback.

I use this app while driving, tapping the heart when a song comes up that I like or to remove one that I got sick off. Needless to say that the current system is much much worse for this.

Give me back a big button to just press easily, the new system is actually really fkn dangerous!

Agreed with the above, the changes made are stupid and dangerous and add click count for no reason.

This is an excellent idea. When the like ❤️ feature was removed, I simply created a playlist titled "no more heart feature" to put songs in any time I otherwise would have used the like ❤️ feature. I used to use that feature to bring songs that I liked a long time ago back to the top of my "liked songs". Now I use my "no more heart feature" playlist for that and other things I used the like❤️ feature for and honestly, I'm concerned that I'm just confusing the algorithm by doing that.

this is one of the most baffling changes for sure, having to go through extra menus instead of having a straightforward like button is really inconvenient. especially since i usually place whole albums into a playlist before listening to them, liking songs takes way longer than it needs to as i can't just press the button to add them straight to my liked songs as they already exist on another playlist.

I have tried to get used to this but overall I have found it just a complete inconvenience and added step to what used to be the simplest most straightforward and loved feature.

Other ideas they could’ve and should go:

1) Leave it a heart icon for liked songs and added in tap & hold feature where a hold on the heart opens the add to playlist section. 
2) You removed the heart icon and made it completely unclear if a song is liked or just added in some playlist. Using plus icon to associate both just make an no sense, liking and being in a playlist are not the same. Like songs have hearts, come up with something else that still shows hearts if you really want to show it’s in a playlist.
3) There would’ve been some wiggle room for me if on iOS they added the like button in the now playing widget for lock screens like Apple Music does. This made me try out Apple Music and I absolutely loved the favoriting without even happening to unlock phone. Changing heart to plus only made me realize this should be an expanded feature for the like button regardless.
