Let Us Customize Our Premium Plan—Only Pay for What We Want

Spotify Premium is evolving, and with the upcoming Super Premium tier rumored to include HiFi at an extra cost, it’s time to rethink how users access features.

Right now, Premium includes music, podcasts, and audiobooks—but not everyone wants or needs all three. For example, as a Family Plan subscriber, I get audiobooks, but only I (the plan manager) can use them. Meanwhile, my family members don’t care about Spotify’s unique features, and I personally don’t listen to audiobooks or podcasts at all.

The solution? Make HiFi, Podcasts, and Audiobooks customizable add-ons to a base Premium plan. Let users pick what they actually use, rather than forcing them to pay for things they don’t.

Charge more for users who want everything, but give us the flexibility to pay for what matters to us. Other platforms—Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited, and Tidal—offer HiFi at no extra cost. Spotify, you’re great, but you’re not irreplaceable.

If this isn’t addressed, I (and many others) may downsize our Spotify plans or switch services entirely. Spotify should be leading the industry, not making users feel trapped in an all-or-nothing model.

Let us choose. Let us customize. That’s the future of streaming.

I joined Spotify specifically for the music. Then Podcasts were added and Audiobooks. All to justify increasing subscription fees. Now that HiFi is going to be made available, an addon that I actually want, unlike Podcasts and Audiobooks I am expected to pay more again.

Guess what Spotify I already subscribe to Apple and TIdal. If you insist on increasing pricing for addons we don't want, I WILL downgrade my family plan for an individual plan, while shifting my family plan to Tidal.
