Send songs to friends within Spotify

Being able to send songs to your friends within the Spotify app would be great. On desktop, you could drag the song or album onto your friend's name in the Friend Activity panel. On mobile there would be a share icon somewhere on the currently playing track (or just within the current existing Share option). To view the songs that your friends sent, there could either be a dedicated Feed for "Suggested by Friends" or "Shared by Friends," or it could just be added it to a dedicated playlist.

Think this could help make Spotify more social and engaging, and bring new life to the Friend Activity concept. It could also help streamline sharing, keep all your friend's suggestions in one place, be an opportunity to collect new data natively within the app.

I agree. The fact that I'm leaving the spotify app to text someone I know to be on Spotify is just silly. There could also be an option for friends to opt out of sharing from specific friends who might overuse this feature or from all friends

God I hate to do this but BACK IN MY DAY, this *was* a feature. It honestly was so much fun and made it interactive and nurtured friendships, even. I was heartbroken when they removed it, and after reaching out to support, was able to have a playlist made of all the songs my now wife and I shared back and forth. I DIGRESS--yes this was and would be an excellent feature to have, it is honestly so annoying and clunky to have to leave the app to send songs to friends.

100% agree, we already share song links to contacts through other apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, telegram, etc. And we can blend playlist too. If Spotify creates this feature specifically to share music, without making it like another chat app, a very simple way of keeping the shared music in chat booths between users, very interactive too! Like that everything stays in the app without having to go through other app to find "that link"

I think that having like a DM tab would be great. Still, I don't think it should allow for full blown conversations but just the song veing sent and the option of the other person to add a comment to it of x amount of characters.

I think it would be super cool if there was a way to send songs to other Spotify users. Sometimes I hear a song that reminds me of someone or that I think they would like and I would love to send it to them through the app.
