Premium users hearing ads

We've received reports that active Premium users are hearing ads interrupting their listening experience.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the patience while this was being investigated!

 

We have good news from our teams - a fix for the instances where Premium users noticed ads when listening to music has been deployed and you should notice a difference right away.

 

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that it is expected that both free & Premium users may still see ads when listening to podcasts.

Ads started today. I am premium and have logged in and out and still occurring. impossible to talk to anyone at Spotify. Anyone else having this?

yes, having the same issue today. Account says premium and payment up to date. Logged out and in on PC and Android. Issue persists

Also having the same issue today, have combed through all settings and logged in/out multiple times. Driving me absolutely mad. They better fix this soon.

Same issue. Never happened before. Have basic family.

Same issue here - just started an hour or two ago. Have tried logging in and logging out, attempted on multiple devices, double checked that payment went through.

Yep, same here.  Have active subscription to Premium Duo.  Must be a system bug, but still, wth?

Just happened to me as well! Spotify c'mon now...

For the record - I was listening on the web player to one of my playlists. The ad was for Spotify Premium (the irony!)

The ads stopped for me; so maybe they fixed it.

Happened to me for the first time this evening.

I've been a premium family member for years.

I was casting from Spotify in a Chrome browser tab to my Samsung Soundbar and the album stopped playing, interrupted by an Amazon ad that failed to load properly. The upshot was that as long as I was still connected to the Soundbar, either from the browser or the app, the ad was still stalled and I culdn't play anything.

Disconnected the Soundbar and I could restart the album and reconnect to the soundbar.
