Amazon Echo Link disappears from list of devices

Amazon Echo Link disappears from list of devices

I've been using an Amazon Echo Link to send music to my hifi from Spotify (in lieu of a direct Airport Express streaming solution) for a couple of years.

Only in recent months the Echo Link speaker disappears from the list under my account. This happens on all devices (iOS/Mac) and the only solution everytime is to remove/re-add the Spotify skill from Alexa.

Hey @ER-MINIO,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

We'd recommend that you restart your devices and your router to make sure that everything is synced up.

In case you're still experiencing this, we'd suggest checking this page out and trying the troubleshooting steps mentioned under "Don't see your device?part of the article.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Lyubka, thanks.

I've done all that you suggest, including logging in and out of my accounts on each device, and anything listed in those pages.

The only solution so far is to remove-re add the Spotify Skill in Alexa as, somehow, the Spotify Connect speaker connection gets lost along the way. This seems to be something happening somewhere between Amazon or Spotify's systems and having to remove/re-add the skill every time (or restart everything, even though it doesn't do anything) doesn't seem to be a viable solution?

Hey @ER-MINIO,

Thanks for getting back to us.

If you have multiple speakers connected - the list will prioritize the ones that have been recently used. If there are other users connecting to the same devices with your account - it might not show up for them unless you're on the same Wi-Fi.

In this article you can find more info about Spotify on Alexa devices.

In case you need additional assistance for your Echo device, we'd suggest reaching out to the Amazon customer support for further help. You can do this here.

Hope you'll find this useful. Take care 🙂

My Question or Issue

I have about 8 devices in my home that can play Spotify and they are all amazon brand.    On a regular basis spotify connect loses the pairing for my Echo Studio speakers after having worked for many days.   I have tried every trouble shooting process I can imagine (unplugging/replugging, factory reset, uninstalling the spotify app on my phone/reinstalling, uninstalling alexa app on my phone/reinstalling).   This has been an intermittent issue that has been a problem for me for a couple of years.  I'm curious if anyone has any advice to offer?   It seems to be isolated to Echo Studio vs echo dot, or my echo show device.

Same problem here with Echo Studios,  Spotify will drop the speaker group / and or individual speaker for years at this point and they either refuse or just can't fix this problem.  The only solution I have read that seems to work 100% of the time is quitting Spotify all together and using an alternative service when streaming on Echo devices.  Spotify should recommend that as the solution at this point.  the Spotify skill for Alexa is currently sitting at 1.6 out of 5 stars with over 20,000 reviews.  That's unacceptable.
