Androi's storage data used different from spotify's data storage

Solved!

Androi's storage data used different from spotify's data storage

Hello!

I have noticed that the data storage used in the app parameters (Parameters > Apps > Spotify > Storage > Data) is bigger than 15Gb

But

In Spotify > Parameters > Storage, the data used is only 3Gb.

I would like to know why there is such a big difference?

Hey @Stucki92,

Thank you for posting in the Community and for the question!

The data could be:

  • Stored parts of music and podcasts as cache, so that the app can play without lagging.
  • Stored downloaded music and podcasts to play offline.
  • Synced local files.

For detailed information, I'd recommend checking the contents of the Spotify folder on your phone's internal storage directly.

You can find it in your Files app > Android > data > com.spotify.music. Note that some manufacturers may restrict access to the data folder, requiring you to connect your phone to a PC via USB in order to view its contents.

Hope this helps clear things up and we're here if there's anything else you're wondering about 🙂
