My Question or Issue
Why am I not able to listen to a particular audiobook, when I now supposedly have access to the 15 hours, per month, of audiobooks?
Hey @MadmanOnWheels,
Thanks for reaching out.
Are you the owner of the Premium Family plan or are you one of the members? 🙂
I'm the owner. Why's that?
Hey @MadmanOnWheels,
Thanks for letting me know.
Can you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing when you try to the audiobook?
Sure. Here you go. I tried a different one that worked, but the particular one (pictured below) that I wanted didn't work.
Hey @MadmanOnWheels,
Thanks for the screenshot 🙂
I've taken a deeper look into this and it turns out that, while lots of titles are available for Premium users, some are strictly purchase-only.
The difference can easily be spotted in this screenshot:
If the Audiobook says 'Included in Premium', then it will play with Premium time.
If it doesn't, however, it will only play when purchased regardless of your current plan.
I hope this clears things up 🙂
Yes. I obviously know that some are for purchase. That lies in the question. I didn't need you to point that out, like I'm stupid. I figured that my question was obvious. And it's "funny" that the one book that I was actually interested in and looked up, way before Spotify added the 15 hours of free audiobooks, isn't available. I thought you would've answered why we're having to pay for some books, if we're supposed to get 15 hours free. It's not quite what it seems, when Spotify makes an announcement.
Hey @MadmanOnWheels,
Spotify is definitely looking forward to welcoming more titles into their Premium catalog in the future, so thanks for your feedback - I've made sure it gets passed onto the right team. 🙂
Good deal
Spotify should add all of the audiobooks for premium. We're already limited. It makes no sense to have two limiting factors.
Thanks
Hi I am the sole owner of my premium individual membership however I can't see "audiobooks" as an option anywhere. I've uninstalled and installed and there's nothing. I'm supposed to have access...
To ensure that we can offer you the best help that we can, could you please create your own thread? Doing so is easy. Simply select the appropriate board here, and then select “Start a Topic.”
Thank you very much!
Why is the Family Premium limited to 15 hours for audio books?
Hi there @MHJFamily,
Thanks for reaching out!
Currently, all Premium Individual subscribers and Duo and Family plan managers have 15 hours of audiobook listening time at no additional cost included in their plan per month. If you run out of listening time, there are audiobooks available for purchasing and you can also check out this site and the FAQ section for more information on the topic.
Hope this helps.
