My Question or Issue
Overnight from 1/17-1/18 a vast majority of audiobooks have become corrupted, where it used to list out "Chapter 1: xyz" it now just says Track 1, Track 2, etc. These Tracks are not equivalent to the chapters as it seems the audio books are broken out into 2-3 minute sections, for a 60-hour audiobook this is absolutely ridiculous, not to mention my progress within the audiobook reset. I first noticed this with the Audiobook titled "The Power Broker" but upon further inspection, 9/10 audiobooks I look at all have broken themselves into this Track 1 Track 2 Track 3 issue.
Happening on Windows as well. Seems to be a content bug, not an application bug.
Anyone think there'll be a fix or is this just how it's going to be from now on?
I am having the same problem for the same audiobook: The Power Broker.
The book I'm having issues with is Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising FWIW.
Me too! Same book. Totally lost my spot.
Having the same issue. Been chatting with support about it but mostly getting questions like if i tried reinstalling the app. I shared this forum so that they see it's an issue across users, fingers crossed.
Hey folks,
This is actively being looked into 🙂
Keep your app up-to-date in order to not miss any new updates in the meantime and please let us know once it resolves for you.
Thank you for all the reports 🙌🏼
This is still broken. Any update on when it will be fixed?
Hello @ahmednawar,
Thank you for the message, we'll do our best to help out.
As this is a question of metadata not being correctly processed we would have to advise you to reach out to our Customer Support team and create a report regarding the issue. They will be able to help out with this.
Hope this helped.
Great reply here....... Guess I'll just give up on the Spotify Audiobooks
and find a new platform.
Vasil, on Jan 23rd, acknowledged that this is a bug and being actively looked into. How would emailing support help? I was hoping to get an update on resolving the bug.
Hey there folks,
Thanks for posting in the thread!
We checked this with our teams, and as we did not spot a trend, but rather a few isolated instances, we recommend reporting them individually. Following the steps mentioned earlier in the thread by @MartinT will get your report to the right folks so that they can have a closer look.
We will keep monitoring the thread and flag with the team if anything changes.
Cheers!
I spent an hour with the support team going through many debugging steps but no luck. They finally agreed to file it as a bug report. During that, they gave me a test account and the book was also corrupted there so hopefully it is easily reproducible. Doesn't seem to be account related.
Seems to be fixed now!
