Autoplay always plays the same songs in the same order recently

Autoplay always plays the same songs in the same order recently

Whenever a song, playlist, or album ends, autoplay generates a queue of songs that is pretty much always the same songs in the same order. This includes some songs that I don't like and skip every time.

This started happening 2-3 weeks ago. It happens whether I'm on iOS, desktop app, or the web app. Does anyone else have this issue, and is there a fix?

Hey @eliu9395 ,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

As we're unable to reproduce the described behavior, we'd need more info. Does the issue occur with a different account? Could you post screenshots of the queue?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

My Question or Issue

I have a playlist where I regularly add and remove songs based off of what songs I like the most at the time.

Furthermore, I've turned on the Autoplay-function so that when my playlist ends (no matter what playlist I listen to) Spotify will play me something similar.

However, for the last couple of months I've experienced Spotify keep repeating the same few songs repeatedly, when my playlists end.

For me personally, Spotify keeps playing Sia's "Gimme Love" as soon as my playlist ends, which has now resulted in me unliking the song, removing it from several playlists in hoping to God that they would stop playing that God damn song, but it keeps on starting with that song every time my playlist end?

What the frick am I doing wrong, and how can I have some new similar songs played instead of the same damn songs?

I'm experiencing the same behavior. Autoplay used to play songs of the same genre (and many I had not heard before). Now it plays the same 15 songs that I've played the most recently. If I put on 90s pop, I get Charli XCX, if I put on Kaytranada, I get Charli XCX, if I put on jazz, I Get Charli XCX, etc etc

I think I've only played her album once on purpose, but the number of times I've listened to her on autoplay must mean I love her in the eyes of the algorithm now

Same thing happens to me, and it's super annoying. It's making me hate certain songs because I hear the beginnings of them 10+ times a day. It happens any time I cherry pick a song I want to hear where autoplay starts immediately after. Any time autoplay starts, it's the same songs. I have a theory that artists are paying to have their songs on autoplay every time.

My Question or Issue

I enable the Autoplay option so that Spotify will continue playing music of similar style.  Recently, I've noticed that a couple of tracks (on in particular) are playing repeatedly, and I can't explain it.  It is a song now that I don't want to hear anymore LOL

This definitely sounds like a bug.

In a larger context, would it make sense to have a Negate feature so that when you hear a song, you can tell Spotify to either never play it again, or lower it in priority?  I think that would be a great idea.

I am disappointed to here same songs again and again. How to make Spotify learn based on my short playlist so each time will bring different songs based on that flavor but not same all time.  Thanks!
