I usually search for a song, and then double tap the Next Song button twice in order to populate a playlist based on my chosen song through my iPhone. For some reason it will no longer generate a playlist, nor autoplay after any album.
I have:
uninstalled/re-installed
cleared cache
toggled autoplay
Restarted phone
Been on and off wi-fi
connected and disconnected from any other devices
Nothing has helped
And trying to post in this forum is a nuisance.
Hey hey @Hjop !
Thanks for reaching out. Sorry for the delayed reply, we just stumbled upon this question.
We appreciate you letting us know all the steps that you have tried so far. We can suggest a few more things to try and solve this.
From Search you should get a Radio playlist based on the found song - could let us know if that works for you if start it by tapping on the 3 dot menu > Go to Song Radio?
When it comes to Autoplay, does it after playlists or you've also noticed trouble with that?
We'd also like ask if this happens only on your iPhone and its OS and Spotify versions.
Keep us in the loop here.
-The radio playlist works
-It happens on all devices using my account
-Normal pre-made playlists will cycle and work, until all songs of the playlist or Albion have been played, then it stops.
Hi @Hjop,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account in your phone and check if the issue persists with a different account?
On another note, we suggest that you try toggling the Autoplay option on in the app settings and then logging out and logging back in twice.
Let us know how it goes.
Their account functions work on my device.
I have toggled/uninstalled/reinstalled/logged in/logged out many times- nothing.
Hi there @Hjop,
Thanks for your reply 🙂
Could you let us know if this is happening while streaming directly from your devices, or if it's when connected to another device such as a smart speaker or a stereo system (using the Connect feature)? In case you use the desktop app, make sure to toggle on both Autoplay options you'll find in Settings.
On another note, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.
Keep us posted.
Thanks for the constant trial and errors.
I don’t connect it to speakers, because Spotify doesn’t allow Autoplay feature with casting.
Again, I’ve toggled until the cows came home.
It began this month, but nothing specific has happened.
Hey @Hjop,
Thanks for getting back to us.
It sounds like this could be an account-related issue.
In this case we'd suggest you head here and create a new account. Then you can transfer your music with these steps so you can play your favorite jams on your new account as well.
If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.
It does sound and feel like an account issue- why would a bizarre thing like this happen?
Ooooh, I wouldn’t go as far as creating a new account if I could just cancel and re-apply my premium plan in order to restart the settings/functions (or be removed and re-invited if sharing a plan as non-owner). I’ll try that before having to do so many of those extra steps. But if it doesn’t work, then I’ll go ahead with a new account.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
