Can you stop adding white noise to my music recommendations please?

Can you stop adding white noise to my music recommendations please?

I use white noise for sleeping purposes, but then it started to fill up my discovery weekly playlist and other music recommendations. It is really not necessary. Would you be able to tag white noise as functional audio and stop adding it to music recommendations please? Thanks!

Hey @diannn

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd suggest you exclude the playlist of the white noises you listen to from your Taste Profile. Past listens from that playlist will have less impact on the playlist made for you by Spotify and recommendations.

Future listening will be affected as well. If you exclude your nightly sleep music playlist, your listening from that playlist will have less influence on your Discover Weekly and Wrapped.

It's important to mention this option is only available for playlists, not individual songs. If you're listening to individual tracks of white noise, we'd suggest creating a playlist, so you can exclude it. To do it, go to the playlist> tap its three-dot menu near the top> Tap Exclude from your taste profile.

Additionally, take into account the exclusion of a playlist from your Taste Profile will take effect within 48 hours. Some recommended content such as Discover Weekly may not be affected until the following week. If you'd like to read more about this, you can give a look at this article.

We'd recommend giving it a try to see how the app behaves in the coming weeks. If you notice this behavior continues despite excluding the playlist, please send us a full description of what's happening on your side, along with the make/model and OS of the affected device.

We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.

Hi,

Recently I started to listen to relaxing music to fall asleep. The consequence us that discovery is now filled with relaxing music, which I would like to avoid.

Is this at all possible?
