My Question or Issue

I was trying to create a new bug report here in the Spotify community and noticed that when trying to create a new topic Firefox would just endlessly churn and not load the page. When I tried with Edge or Chrome, the page opened fine. The only addon I have is uBlock Origin. The issue still reproduced after disabling uBlock Origin. Would be lovely if these kind of support forums would work on all major browsers... the last thing you want are people not being able to report bugs due to a bug in the forum to report bugs (that just adds fuel to the fire). It's a bit strange, all other pages here seemed to work fine though, stuff like looking at other bugs etc... were loading fine. It's only when creating a new topic. Not sure if it has to do with the previewing functionality of the text editor there or something. I've tried clearing cookies and cache etc... and finally reinstalling Firefox itself, same issue. And no, swapping to another browser isn't really something you should force people to do for these kind of things (even if I know from my own webdev experience that it's nice to only have to target Chrome!).

Hey @Kalsarikännit,

Thank you for reporting this behavior.

To investigate this issue further, would you mind trying with a different network connection to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot.

Also, if you're using a VPN, we'd recommend turning it off as it can affect the proper behavior of the page.

Lastly, would you mind confirming if doing the process on a private window (using the same browser) also keeps loading the page with no results?

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi Oscar!

I tried to connect through a mobile hotspot just to be sure, and it still just endlessly churns on Firefox. I'm not connecting with a VPN, so that part should be OK at least.

I also tried creating a new thread in a Firefox private window, and I get the same. Finally, I also attempted to use Firefox "safe mode" which disables all plugins. Unfortunately, I'm still seeing the issue. It works flawlessly on Edge and Chrome from what I can see.

Thanks!

Hey @Kalsarikännit,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, would you mind reinstalling Firefox to check if notice any difference? Uninstalling Firefox should give you the option to delete or keep your current Browser settings. So there should be no need to backup your files (if you have any bookmarks or settings that you'd like to keep), but in case you want to make absolutely sure that your Firefox profile is safe, do the following:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and type %appdata% into the address bar and hit enter.
  2. Then look for the folder titled "Mozilla" and copy it to your backup location of choice.
  3. When you're done reinstalling Firefox navigate again to %appdata% and copy the "Mozilla" folder back to that location.

If that doesn't do the trick, however, it's possible that it's related to the specific browser and setup. In this case, we recommend using other browsers, when possible.

Let us know how you get on!
