Fail to enable Spotify skill in Alexa app

My Question or Issue

As of yesterday, I cannot enable the Spotify skill in my Alexa app. I get an error saying that I'm not eligible due to regional restrictions.

It worked fine for me for the past year or so.

I Contacted Amazon support, they said it is not related to them and that I should contact Spotify support.

What could be causing this sudden issue?

According to the official Amazon help site this feature is not available in every country. If you've already tried basic troubleshooting such as updating both apps and re-linking your accounts, we'd suggest to get back in touch with the Amazon customer support.

As a workaround, you could try changing your country setting for the Alexa device, following the steps here.
