Friend activity shows "1 hour" for friends who are currently listening

My Question or Issue

Friend activity shows "1 hour" for friends who are currently listening at that moment, instead of the usual symbol. I log onto Spotify on a different computer, and the same people shown as "1 hour" can be seen to be actually currently listening. It also doesn't show the blue circle that indicates the friend is online. I completely deleted and reinstalled Spotify 5-6 times, using the windows app uninstaller. What should I do?

Thanks for the post.

Spotify friend activity is not updated in real-time. This is why you're seeing this. The updating of your friends' activity also depends on your network connection. It might be slower or not working at all on some PCs like work/ school computers or on work/ school networks, as those have certain networking ports blocked. Unfortunately, there is no way around this, as it's dependent of your connectivity rather than some app settings.

Spotify isn't updated in real time, but the problem is, it never shows friends as actively listening ever. It never shows the music bar symbol which indicated the person is listening to that song "at the moment", as it does on other devices. It always says "1 hour" for the active listeners, no blue circle ever. It used to work as it should a couple of months ago, so it can't be something about the security settings I'd guess, and the connectivity is very good. What do you think it could be then?
