Getting adverts on premium

Getting adverts on premium

How do I block adverts like these? I'm on premium, and yet, I keep on getting ads for random stuff on my home page like these.

Hey @HellishAbyss,

Thanks for reaching out.

It's currently not possible to block these content suggestions, however your feedback is highly appreciated and will be forwarded to the relevant team. In the meantime, we'd this idea a thumbs up if you think it should be implemented.

Let us know if there's anything else.

Take care,

Hi MihailY,

So what's the point of paying for premium if we still get adverts? I don't think that I should have to give a community idea a thumbs up just to get the ad-free experience promised initially.

Thanks

Hi @MihailY,

Could I please have an actual response to this?

Cheers

Hi there @HellishAbyss,

Thanks for the post.

These content suggestions are automatically generated based on your listening preferences and what is most popular with other users who listen to similar content. They are not advertisements for commercial products or services, like the ones you'd get on the free tier.

It's best to add your +Vote and any feedback you have on this in the Idea thread posted above by @MihailY.

Hope this info helps.

What's the point in upvoting an idea that's already been marked as being closed?

I've never listened to podcasts on Spotify. I don't really care about the Kardashians. And a podcast (which might itself contain commercial adverts) is indeed a commercial product. So what you've said is just not true. If it was based on my listening preferences it wouldn't exist, and it is an advertisement for a product - Kim Kardashian's podcast.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies.

@HellishAbyss, we understand what you mentioned; let us add some additional insights. These are content suggestions made by the app and when it does not have enough information about your tastes and preferences, may not be as accurate. Since you kindly mentioned you never listen to podcasts, what the application does is take the info collected by users with similar tastes to yours to recommend content. We really appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to improve everyday.

@anijatsu, even though the status is set as Case Closed, it doesn't mean the idea has been rejected. That's why weโ€™d suggest adding your vote in the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.

We really appreciate your feedback, we know you want to make the best out of your listening experience.

We'll be here if anything else comes up. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

"These are content suggestions made by the app and when it does not have enough information about your tastes and preferences, may not be as accurate." - why does it make them at all then?

The thread says "it doesn't seem this will reach the votes necessary to put it forward for prioritization" despite having OVER 500 votes. Half the suggestions implemented in the monthly update blog have <100. How does that make sense.

Spotify don't listen to their community if it's something they don't want to implement (another example being the "not interested" button). They clearly do not care in the slightest.
