My Question or Issue

I have a few songs that randomly are grayed out in my playlist and will not play.  Spotify explains that this happens sometimes, but when I search the song directly, the song is not grayed out and plays just fine.  So it is clearly something wrong with the playlist.  Unlike the other posts I see about this, this is not an imported playlist. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

 

This may happen if the song was re uploaded by the artist and the previous version (the one in your playlist) was removed. Could you try removing the greyed songs from the playlist and adding them again from the search result?

Over the past week, the majority of my playlist links to songs are randomly grayed out. This is on one desktop client only. I've tried clearing the cache and redownloading. All the songs are still accessible via search, just not via playlist. Why? Again, this is for only one client, but it's one I use every day.

 

When I try to click the song from one of my playlists, it says "content not available." When I select the song from the album, it works fine. How do I fix this?

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

 

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, could you let us know if the same happens while using the web player?
