Help! Can't share playlist with username (not facebook user)

Hi!

On the desktop client version 1.0.14.124 I can't share a playlist with a username I follow. That user is not a facebook user, but I have followed the user by entering spotify:user:username and clicked "Follow". The share function just shows "Sorry, no results could be found." when entering the username I wish to share with. On the spotify web player, I see the username of the user I want to share a list with, but when I select the user and try to share the list, it just keeps waiting and never actually shares the list. It just shows an endless "spinning circle of dots".

Pretty sure the user needs to be following you before you can share playlists or tracks with them.
