Hide button is missing in web player

Hide button is missing in web player

In my Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists, the Hide button/option has disappeared. It does not show up 1) next to a currently playing song in the bottom left, 2) when hovering over a song in the playlist, nor 3) after clicking the three-dot meatball menu beside a song in the playlist. I am using Spotify on the web player (Firefox v.109).

Hi there @mangopit,

Thanks for the post.

Currently it's not possible to Hide songs from the web player. You can listen through the Desktop app, where the option is available in Discover Weekly.

We've passed your feedback on to the development teams.

Cheers.

Are you new to the Community? Take a moment to introduce yourself!

Was this functionality removed from the web player for some reason? Hiding songs definitely used to be an option on web player. I'm curious why this would change.

Hey @mangopit,

Thanks for your reply.

At Spotify, we're always testing new improvements and features to give our users a better experience. So you may have access to a completely new feature for a while or notice this kind of changes.

Your feedback is very important to us, because it helps us make future decisions. At the moment we don't have further info, but we know you want to make the best out of your listening experience.

We'll be here if anything else comes up. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

I've historically been able to use the - button on a song to remove it from my release radar both on my phone and on my computer/web version.

I don't understand why the functionality would be removed when we are given no choice in the variety of songs we get included in the release radar. I get non-English songs in my playlist that I have no interest in seeing again, and after months of declining them, at least now it's not 1/3 of my playlist... but I still get quite a few (5 out of 30).

How can you learn what I like if I can't do anything except skip them? There are other songs/song styles I don't particularly love being in there too, but how do I give feedback if I can't remove them from the list?

Why is there an easy way to hide tracks on the mobile app but it can't be found on the desktop app (mac)?
