Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.
This should work if you go to the three dot menu at the top of your playlist, where you should find the option to invite collaborators. Once you select this option, a link will be generated. You can then share this link with other users.
At this point, everyone who clicks on this link within 24hrs can access the playlist as a collaborator. After 24hrs, the link will either just redirect to the playlist if it's public or will show an error, if you have it set to private. In order to add more collaborators after 24 hours, a new link needs to be generated and sent.
If, by contrast, you see the different option to just turn on 'Collaborative Playlist', go with it, but things should start looking the way described above quite soon and definitively.
Hope you'll find this info useful. Cheers!
Hi, i'm having the same problem. So it is no longer possible to make it collaborative? every 24 hours you have to generate a new link?
Also seeing this. Please do not say this is an intended change - the collab function was very useful and one of my primary reasons for using Spotify.
Please re-add option to outright make a playlist collaborative.
Hey folks,
After someone has become a collaborator on your playlist they will be able to add/ remove songs even after the initial 24h period passes.
In order to add a new collaborator you'll need to send them a link. This is so that you have control over who exactly has access to your collaborative playlists and can edit them.
Hope this info clears things up.
Hey guys,
Check out my idea submission to bring back the "Make Collaborative" Feature + vote on it if you're missing it too! https://community.spotify.com/t5/Idea-Submissions/Desktop-Playlists-Have-both-quot-make-collaborativ...
A lot of us are having the same issue - they have removed the option to make a playlist collaborative, so unfortunately you have to invite specific people to join the playlist. Obviously this isn't the way a lot of us used the feature, as we allowed whoever found our playlist to add / change it.
If enough of us vote on the idea to bring the feature back, they may just implement having both so we can enjoy using Spotify again!

I am having the same problem, but even with a new link, people are finding that they can't submit anything to the playlist. What is up?
Hey @mkap10,
In this case I'd suggest taking a look at your playlist settings. See if the people who are unable to add songs are marked as Listeners instead of Collaborators 🙂
If the issue persists, let us know what steps you take and where you click when inviting the Collaborators. A video recording/ a screenshot of this would also be of help. Many thanks!
