I try to play a single from an artist and it plays a different song

I keep trying to play a song from artist that released a new song a few days ago, but when I click on the song it plays a different one. I tried creating just a playlist with that one song, but it still won't let me listen to the song. My account is free, but I don't understand why it won't let me play the song when I press play?

Sounds like you're using Spotify on your phone. The thing is that the mobile app doesn't fully support on-demand playback for free users, so when you try to play the single, Spotify shuffles it with other similar songs. More info in this article.

You can still pick and play any song you want via the Web Player or the desktop app though, so feel free to give them a try!
