Kurdish Sorani Dialect font support

Kurdish Sorani Dialect font support

Please provide Kurdish (Sorani) font support. I'm listening to a lot of Kurdish songs, but unfortunately Spotify doesn't fully support Kurdish (Sorani font) in lyrics page.

Example :

https://open.spotify.com/track/53HIuSXxUyEZ5bafaoXCZ8?si=3e95a164d3c447e8

go to this music and lyrics section you will find that some letters are not displaying properly.

Hey @31boux4ubwmahxnn7u4s,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

Could you please send us a screenshot with the wrong letters and how it should look like ?

We'd also suggest that you check if letters show in the same way in Musixmatch.

It's also worth mentioning that the lyrics that are shown on Spotify are provided by Musixmatch. If you spot any incorrect, out-of-sync, or any other issue with lyrics, it's best to try reaching out directly to them about this since they're the ones who can update the lyrics.

Hope you find this useful. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you 🙂

Well, I have noticed this problem with the font-family that you are using for Spotify to show Arabic letters, in Kurdish, there are some extra letters. (just like in English and French).

I have colored the letters that are not supported by the font family you are using :

another music:

As you can see they are not synced with the font.

How they should look like:

Well they look correct but compared to the font you are using for letters it's wrong they should look like the below:

Wrong.png

The wrong one has an extra sign that changes its pronunciation, that sign should be supported by the font, the correct one actually is only correct in the matter of font not in the matter of the letter it should have an extra sign because it's important but with the correct style, it is very unpleasant while you are reading the lyrics, you can reach out a Kurdish person for more information.

The solution could be to use a Kurdish font for Kurdish texts.

In the Musixmatch there was no problem with adding Kurdish lyrics.

The Kurdish community would very much appreciate it if you fix it.

Hey @31boux4ubwmahxnn7u4s,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop and for the info shared.

To continue investigating the described behavior, would you mind sending us the links to the songs in which you noticed this? You can do it by following the steps in this article. Please send us the links to the same songs in Musixmatch.

We'll be on the lookout!

I have noticed this behavior in any Kurdish song which used Sorani Alphabet in it. (Also in song names and when I search in Sorani Kurdish).

Here is a list of them that i wrote them in google sheet
