My Alexa Echo Dot 3d gen won't play spotify music...

My Question or Issue

I have paired my echo dot and spotify account, I have premium, so I should be able to play music on my echo dot gen3, but when I ask alexa to "play music by X artist" alexa replies "ok, here is music by X artist" then nothing happens. I also have the alexa app on my phone and manually go to the "play" setting and press on the "recently played" and click "play on: echo dot" BUT nothing happens... Please help! 😢
