My Question or Issue

My dedicated next track media button is only skipping five seconds every time its clicked and can be held down for it to rapidly skip time through songs. Is there a way to remove this? I just want to skip songs, not hold it down, skip 6 songs, then glitch out Spotify from skipping too much.

Hey @Hi-FiMusik,

Thanks for reaching out.

As a first step, can you please try uninstalling the app and downloading the webpage version, if you're using the Windows Store one or vice versa? Also, please make sure you have the latest drivers for your laptop downloaded from the Asus support page.

Hi, tried both. Same issues. It's like there's a conflict between applications for the next track button. I've got WhatsApp, Teams, Premiere Pro and Spotify open. I recollect Teams having this weird media player button (just plays the ringing tune), so perhaps Spotify is conflicting with Teams.

In summary, though, neither options have solved the problem. I have to open the app itself to be able to use the next track button.

Yes....it is a conflict problem.

I had Pixabay and a YouTube video open on Chrome. I hit the media player button, and after a 20s delay, Pixabay started playing. I closed that tab, repeated the process, heard my YT video playing, closed, then media buttons started working for spotify.

Somewhere along this path lies the solution 😄
